Body
WHEREAS, Anna Munguia currently serves as the Director of Community Outreach for Big Brothers Big Sisters Kansas City (BBBSKC), where she dedicates her work to building strong, lasting relationships between the organization and the citizens of Kansas City, ensuring youth and families receive the mentorship and support they need to thrive; and,
WHEREAS, Anna’s commitment to service extends far beyond her professional role, as she actively participates in leadership and advocacy throughout the Kansas City community, serving on the boards of The Folly Theater, El Centro, Inc., and the International Relations Council; and,
WHEREAS, she has demonstrated her passion for justice and inclusion as the Co-Chair of BBBSKC’s Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) Advisory Board while also serving as a Big/Mentor to guide and inspire the next generation of leaders; and,
WHEREAS, Anna’s outstanding leadership has been recognized through numerous awards and honors, including being named to The Independent Magazine’s 2023 Class of Rising Stars, Ink Magazine’s 30 Under 30 list, and as a BBBSKC Most Wanted Honoree in 2014; and,
WHEREAS, her work reflects a deep belief in the transformative power of mentorship, philanthropy, and representation for underrepresented communities, especially within Kansas City’s Hispanic and nonprofit sectors; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED that the Jackson County Legislature does hereby commend and honor Anna Munguia for her exceptional dedication to her community, her leadership in promoting equity and inclusion, and her role as an inspiring emerging leader shaping the future of Kansas City.

Effective Date: This resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
