Title
AN ORDINANCE repealing Ordinance 2958, relating to the annexation of certain county roads by the City of Oak Grove.
Intro
ORDINANCE #2970, October 25, 1999
INTRODUCED BY Victor E. Callahan, County Legislator
Body
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 2958, dated September 13, 1999, the Legislature did authorize the County Executive to execute a petition for the voluntary annexation of portions of Jim Owings, Lefholz, McQuerry, Stillhouse, and R. D. Mize roads by the City of Oak Grove; and,
WHEREAS, the County Counselor's office has subsequently determined that these roads may not be legally annexed by the city since they are not contiguous with the city's existing corporate limits as required by state law, as is more fully set out in the attached opinion; and,
WHEREAS, since the annexation authorized by Ordinance 2958 would not be legal, it is appropriate that that Ordinance be repealed; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that Ordinance 2958, dated September 13, 1999, be and hereby is repealed.
