Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 16200, dated March 12, 2007, the Legislature did authorize the County Executive to execute an Off-System Bridge Replacement and Rehabilitation Program Agreement with the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission for the Austerman Road Bridge Replacement Project, No. 2456; and,
WHEREAS, preliminary plans for the project are now complete and have been approved by the Missouri Department of Transportation and the Director of Public Works has solicited formal written bids on Bid No. PW 05-2010 for the bridge project; and,
WHEREAS, he has received ten (10) bids thereon, with the three (3) lowest bids as follows:

Precision Construction & Contracting, Inc. $400,510.11
Lone Jack, MO
WCI, Inc. $400,705.55
Independence, MO
and,
WHEREAS, in the bid, the County reserved the right to adjust quantities up or down to accommodate available funds within the bid specifications; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works recommends, and the Missouri Department of Transportation concurs, that the contract be awarded to Pyramid Excavation & Construction, Inc., for the reason that it has submitted the lowest and best bid; and,
WHEREAS, in the event that line item adjustments to the contract become necessary, it is appropriate that the Director of Public Works be authorized to approve said line item adjustments to the extent there is no additional cost to the County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Director of Public Works and that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Public Works be and hereby is authorized to make adjustments in the contract line item quantities to the extent that there will be no further funding obligation to the County; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
