Body

 WHEREAS, various County departments own or lease a variety of vehicles for use in conducting County business and those vehicles need both preventative and reparative maintenance; and,

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to Invitation to Bid No. 26-040, the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing has solicited formal written bids for the furnishing of vehicle maintenance and repair services for use by various County departments; and,

 

WHEREAS, a total of 211 notifications were distributed and seven (7) responses were received and evaluated, from the following:

and,

 

WHEREAS, an evaluation committee made up of representatives from the Facilities Management Department, Drug Task Force, Parks + Rec Department, Public Works Department, and the Sheriff’s Office evaluated the bids submitted; and,

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1054.6 of the Jackson County Code, 1984 the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends a split award to Bird Automotive of Blue Springs, MO, Glenn’s Tire and Automotive, Inc. of Independence, MO, Metro Ford, Inc. of Independence, MO,  and Take 5 Oil Change of Charlotte, NC, under the terms and conditions of Invitation to Bid No. 26-040; and,

 

WHEREAS, a split award to the low bidders is recommended to ensure continued availability and variety of necessary services from multiple sources; and,

 

 

 

WHEREAS, this award is made on an as needed basis and does not obligate the County to pay any specific amount, with the availability of funds for specific purchases being subject to annual appropriation, with annual estimated usage of $641,000.00; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing, and that the Director be and hereby is authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary for the accomplishment of the award; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contracts, to the extent that sufficient appropriations to the using spending agencies are contained in the then current Jackson County budget.

 

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
