Body
WHEREAS, the Sheriff's Department's 1997 costs of transporting prisoners pursuant to warrants have been higher than anticipated; and,
WHEREAS, these increased costs will be largely reimbursed by the State of Missouri; and,
WHEREAS, in order to cover these costs in the first instance, an appropriation is necessary; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends this appropriation as an amendment to her Proposed 1997 Jackson County Budget; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be and hereby is made from the unappropriated surplus of the 1997 General Fund:
