A RESOLUTION in honor of Women’s History Month recognition of LaTasha McCall a trailblazer for founding and leading a successful construction business.

Body
WHEREAS, Ms. McCall is visionary, audacious, trailblazer, and thought leader are just a few traits that define the brilliance behind LaTasha McCall’s success; and,
WHEREAS, Ms. McCall is the mastermind behind LM2 Construction & Consulting, LLC (LM2), a 100% Black woman-owned firm established in 2016; and,
WHEREAS, Ms. McCall has carved out a powerful presence in the construction and consulting industry; and,
WHEREAS, Ms. McCall has nearly 30 years of experience across all phases of construction in both the private and public sectors, and leads LM2 as its President and Founder; and,
WHEREAS, Ms. McCall’s leadership is marked by her role as Principal-in-Charge and Project Executive on numerous high-impact initiatives, where she plays an active role in project oversight, ensuring diversity is woven into every phase of the project blueprint; and,
WHEREAS, Ms. McCall’s commitment to her community is unwavering, reflected in her deep-rooted relationships and her professional journey, which has always been intertwined with her advocacy for justice and community support; and,
WHEREAS, Ms. McCall is passionate about building a stronger economy, uplifting individuals and families, driving social change, and promoting equity; and,
WHEREAS, beyond her executive role, Ms. McCall is dedicated to giving back and changing lives, she has been fortunate to support several non-profit organizations in the Kansas City metro area, including Care Beyond the Boulevard, City Union Mission, KC Mothers in Charge, Mo Hives KC, I AM4:13 Teens, Direct One Youth Football League, and the Annual Warrior Women Breast Cancer Brunch; in addition to her community engagement, Ms. McCall has served on the Advisory Board for the Bank of Blue Valley; and,
WHEREAS, Ms. McCall is not just breaking barriers, she’s shattering them, as a Black woman in construction, she is challenging stereotypes and setting a new standard for excellence in the industry; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED that the Jackson County Legislature hereby honors LaTasha McCall and her commitment to public service, efforts in the construction industry, and being a blueprint for business.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
