Intro

RESOLUTION  #15265 ,   November 29, 2004

INTRODUCED BY Robert A. Stringfield, County Legislator

Body

WHEREAS, Section 1040.1 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, eliminates the requirement for competitive bidding when items to be purchased can be obtained from only one source; and,

WHEREAS, Section 1063.00 of the Code requires notification of and approval by the Legislature on such sole source purchases exceeding $5,000.00; and,

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director recommends a contract with Bratton Corporation of Kansas City, MO, in the estimated amount not to exceed $19,445.00, for the purchase and installation of food passage doors at the Department of Corrections; and,

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director further recommends that he not take competitive bids with regard to said contract for the reason that Bratton Corporation of Kansas City, MO, is the only known local vendor that manufactures, repairs and sells parts for Detention doors; therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made to Bratton Corporation of Kansas City, MO, in the estimated amount not to exceed $19,445.00 as recommended by the Purchasing Director for the purchase and installation of food passage doors at the Department of Corrections, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby authorized to execute for the County a contract with Bratton Corporation, and any and all documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments including final payment on the contract, to the extent sufficient appropriations to the using spending agency have heretofore been made in the current Jackson County budget.
