Body
WHEREAS, Kansas City Royals' super fan Sung Woo Lee is making his first visit to Kansas City from Seoul, South Korea; and,
WHEREAS, Sung Woo gained local recognition as a twenty-two year fan of the Kansas City Royals and for his Twitter account, @Koreanfan_KC; and,
WHEREAS, Sung Woo arrived in Kansas City on Tuesday, August 5, 2014, and was greeted with a red carpet welcome from his new Kansas City friends, Chris Kamier, Dave Darby, Kevin Robinson, Ethan Bryan, and Jeff Hurter; and,
WHEREAS, as part of his visit to Kansas City, Sung Woo will visit the Negro Leagues Museum and the World War I Museum, take a private tour of Kauffman Stadium, have lunch at Arthur Bryants, and throw out the first pitch at the Royal's game August 11 against the Oakland A's; and,
WHEREAS, Sung Woo follows the Royals via MLB.tv and Twitter, watching games in the middle of night, South Korean time; and,
WHEREAS, Sung Woo has been a Royals' fan since the 90's, inspired by the successes of George Brett and Frank White; and,
WHEREAS, Sung Woo's favorite baseball players are Mike Sweeney, Zack Greinke, George Brett, Danny Duffy, Bo Jackson, Satchel Paige, and Frank White; and,
WHEREAS, Sung Woo's visit to Kansas City is a lifelong dream that he was encouraged to pursue by his wife and his ailing father; and,
WHEREAS, Sung Woo says he likes to root for the underdog and is overwhelmed by his welcome in Kansas City; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby honors and welcomes Sung Woo Lee to Jackson County, Missouri.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
