Body
WHEREAS, on November 24, 2000, Rockhurst High School defeated St. Louis Pattonville at the TWA Dome in St. Louis, 23-7, capturing the 2000 Missouri Class 5A State Football Championship; and,
WHEREAS, the varsity football team has won six state titles in the past 30 years; and,
WHEREAS, under the leadership of head coach Tony Severino, Rockhurst captured four of these titles in 1983, 1986, 1987, and 2000; and,
WHEREAS, the varsity football team completed the 2000 season undefeated with a record of 14-0; and,
WHEREAS, according to USA Today's high school football rankings, Rockhurst High finished the 2000 season 16th in the nation; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates Rockhurst High School staff, coaches, and team members on capturing the Missouri Class 5A State Football Championship for the sixth time in school history.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
