Body
WHEREAS, Jackson County CASA has been awarded a grant from the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation in the amount of $25,000.00, to provide court advocacy for abused and neglected children, newborn to 18 years of age, to ensure a safe and drug-free home environment, through its Court Appointed Special Advocates program; and,
WHEREAS, Jackson County CASA has requested local matching funds from the Anti-Drug Sales Tax Grant Match account in the amount of $25,000.00 for this program; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this proposal and recommends the expenditure of these funds; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor, with Jackson County CASA for its Court Appointed Special Advocates program at a cost to the County not to exceed $25,000.00; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
