Body
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department Fleet Division has a need for one (1) Falcon 6T2B-D 6-Ton Asphalt Recycler and one (1) John Deere 620 P-Tier Motor Grader for fleet replacement; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works and the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing recommend the award of the contracts for the purchase of one (1) Falcon 6T2B-D 6-Ton Asphalt Recycler and one (1) John Deere 620 P-Tier Motor Grader for use by Public Works Department under the terms and conditions of Sourcewell Contract 050625-FRM and Sourcewell Contract 011723-JDC, two existing competitively bid government contracts, at an actual cost to the County in the amount of $375,663.00; and,
WHEREAS, these units are essential to daily Road and Bridge Division operations and are vital for maintaining the County’s infrastructure; and,
WHEREAS, funding for this equipment has been integrated into the Division’s specialty equipment replacement schedule and represents a planned appropriation for the current fiscal year; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1030.4, Jackson County Code, 1984, the Director of Public Works and the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing recommend the awards under the existing competitively bid government contracts will allow the County to take advantage of significant discounts offered to larger entities; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that awards be made under the existing competitively bid government contracts as recommended by the Director of Public Works and Interim Director Finance and Purchasing and that the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the awards; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contracts.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
