Body
WHEREAS, Spay & Neuter Kansas City is a not-for profit corporation dedicated to the control of our animal population to prevent the needless euthanasia of healthy domestic animals; and,
WHEREAS, by Resolution 16699, dated August 25, 2008, the County Legislature did authorize execution of a cooperative agreement to provide $50,000.00 for partial cost of the renovation expenses of a new facility for the organization; and,
WHEREAS, the cooperative agreement as executed by all parties set the schedule for distribution of the authorized funding on a quarterly basis, and the organization has received the first quarter payment of $12,500.00, leaving a remaining contract balance of $37,500.00; and,
WHEREAS, the organization has a need for the contract balance to be distributed before the end of the calendar year 2008 to avoid significant delays in the completion of the renovation; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of Jackson County that the County enter into an addendum to the cooperative agreement to permit the distribution of the balance of the funding authorized under the agreement; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute an addendum to the Cooperative Agreement with Spay & Neuter Kansas City of Kansas City, MO, to provide for the immediate distribution of the balance of $37,500.00, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the agreement.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
