Body
WHEREAS, Stephanie Lamb, a Lee's Summit West High School senior, was selected for the 2009 Missouri Scholars 100, a statewide program that honors Missouri's top 100 academic students in the 2009 graduating class; and,
WHEREAS, to be considered for the Missouri Scholars 100 program, a student must have a minimum GPA of 3.75, a minimum ACT score of 29 or a minimum SAT score of 1,900, be ranked in the upper 10 percent of the class, have taken upper-level courses in mathematics, science, English and foreign language, have excellent attendance, be an exemplary school citizen, and be involved in school activities; and,
WHEREAS, Stephanie has a GPA of 4.25 on a 4.0 scale and is ranked in the top ten percent of students in her class; and,
WHEREAS, throughout high school Stephanie was involved in Titan Smart, the Freshmen Mentoring Program, National Honor Society, and cheerleading, in which she earned a varsity letter, has qualified for Bright Flight, and received the University of Missouri Curators Scholar Award; and,
WHEREAS, Stephanie has taken and excelled in advanced courses throughout her schooling, received academic letters from her freshman through her junior years, and maintained her place on the principal's honor roll throughout high school; and,
WHEREAS, Stephanie plans to attend the University of Missouri and will be participating in Honors College; and,
WHEREAS, Stephanie's parents, Wayne and Sue, and her brothers, Danny and Scott, join in Stephanie's celebration of this distinguished award; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby recognizes Stephanie Lamb upon her selection to the Missouri Scholars 100 program and wishes her well in all her future endeavors.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
