Body
WHEREAS, under the outstanding leadership of Coach Jesse Griffin, the Raytown South High School girls' cross country team won the 1999 Missouri State Class 3A Championship; and,
WHEREAS, accomplishments of the team include the following:
Achieved 60-8 record in head-to-head competition;
Won six meets during year, placing second in three meets;
Won conference championship for first time in three years;
Won district championship for first time in school history;
Won state championship for first time in school history;
Ranked first among small schools by metro coaches association;
and,
WHEREAS, each girl on the team achieved a personal best time this year; and,
WHEREAS, team members and honors received during the year include:
Stephanie Nicoll - All-Conference, All-District, All-Area-2nd team, All-Metro 1A-3A Coaches Association-Honorable Mention
Rachel Patterson - All-Conference, All-District, All-State-1st team, All-Area-1st team, All-Metro 1A-3A Coaches Association-1st team
Anna Britt - All-Conference, All-District, All-State, All-Area-2nd Team, All-Metro 1A-3A Coaches Association-Honorable Mention
Sarah Howard - All-District, All-Area-Honorable Mention
Aubrey Hake - All-Conference, All-District, All-Area-Honorable Mention
Ashley Anderson - All-District, All-Area-Honorable Mention
Milleshia McGlothen- All-District
Kristen Riggs - Strong finish at conference championship
Shaunte Hill - Manager
Heather Reep - Manager
WHEREAS, Coach Griffin was named Missouri small school coach of the year by the Metro Coaches' Association; and,
WHEREAS, the Raytown South girls' cross country team is to be commended for representing the school in its athletic endeavors, for the personal accomplishments of each team member, and for striving for excellence; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby congratulates the Raytown South High School girls' cross country team and Coach Jesse Griffin on their outstanding victory as District and Missouri state champions.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
