Body
WHEREAS, under an Agreement dated March 26, 1980, Truman Medical Center, Inc. (TMC), has provided space and services in order to allow the County to operate its Medical Examiner's Office in TMC's main hospital building, which is owned by the County, in Kansas City, Missouri; and,
WHEREAS, on June 10, 1985, by Resolution 6015, the parties amended said Agreement to require additional compensation to be paid by the County to TMC for its space and services; and,
WHEREAS, the parties now propose to relocate the Medical Examiner's Office from TMC's main hospital building to TMC's Diagnostic and Treatment Center, located west of Holmes Street on TMC's campus, and to provide for a change in the scope of services to be provided by TMC, under a new Agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto; and,
WHEREAS, under this new Agreement, the County will pay for the costs of the move and any costs associated with the remodeling of the new space; and,
WHEREAS, the County will also contract for housekeeping services and for the maintenance of medical equipment at the new location; and,
WHEREAS, TMC will continue to provide other support services, and will make the new space available at no additional cost to the County; and,
WHEREAS, the new agreement will allow the County and TMC to more fully utilize their combined resources for the benefit of both parties; and,
WHEREAS, this arrangement is in the best interest of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached agreement with Truman Medical Center, Inc; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments under the Agreement to the extent that sufficient appropriations to the using spending agency are included in the then current Jackson County budget.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
