AN ORDINANCE transferring $40,000.00 within the 2002 Park Fund, appropriating $80,000.00 from the Unappropriated Surplus of the 2002 Grant Fund and authorizing the County Executive to execute a project agreement with Missouri Division of State Parks, in connection with the Lewis and Clark Bicentennial Commission Corps of Discovery program, as a local match to a local government grant, in an amount not to exceed $40,000.00.

Body
WHEREAS, Jackson County Parks and Recreation has been awarded a grant in the amount of $40,000.00, by the Missouri Division of State Parks for architectural design services for the Lewis and Clark Education Center at Fort Osage National Historic Landmark; and,
WHEREAS, these funds are subject to a local match in the amount of $40,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, the Missouri Division of State Parks has requested that the County provide $40,000.00 in matching funds to match the grant for this project; and,
WHEREAS, a transfer and appropriation are necessary to cover the grant match; and,
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department has now requested that the attached project agreement with the Missouri Division of State Parks for architectural design services for the Lewis and Clark Education Center at Fort Osage National Historic Landmark, be approved; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED, by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to enter into the attached project agreement with Missouri Division of State Parks; and,
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the following transfer and appropriation be made from the 2002 Grant Fund:
