A RESOLUTION transferring $50,000.00 within the 2024 General Fund and authorizing the Director of Finance and Purchasing to issue a check in the amount of $50,000.00 for the sponsorship of the Jackson County Small Business Scholarships for the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) Conference, at an actual cost to the County in the amount of $50,000.00.

Body
WHEREAS, the USHCC National Conference is an annual conference that brings together local Hispanic chambers of commerce, businesses, and corporate partners to support the economic development of the Hispanic and American economy; and,
WHEREAS, the conference will take place from October 6 through October 8, 2024, at the Kansas City Convention Center; and,
WHEREAS, sponsorship of this event will help cover the cost for local Jackson County small businesses who could benefit from conference attendance and cannot afford to attend; and,
WHEREAS, the fee for the sponsorship is $50,000; and,
WHEREAS, a transfer is necessary to place the funds needed to cover this fee in the proper spending account; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer be made within the 2024 General Fund:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to issue a check in the amount of $50,000.00 for sponsorship of scholarship for attendance at the USHCC national conference, made payable to the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Greater Kansas City.
