Body

WHEREAS, the COMBAT Commission has recommended a Cooperative Agreement ("Agreement") with the Partnership for Children ("PFC") to provide for the County's participation as a partner in the 2005-2006 Kauffman Teen Survey ("Survey") for its use by the Prosecuting Attorney and the COMBAT Commission in drug prevention efforts at a cost to the County not to exceed $40,000.00; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Survey has been re-designed to elicit data from at-risk youths regarding drug activities and drug-related crime and improve public safety by providing planning data for use by law enforcement agencies and drug prevention and treatment programs; and,

 

WHEREAS, the COMBAT Commission has recommended that the $40,000.00 be payable from the COMBAT Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund for the 2005-2006 Teen Survey in quarterly payments of $10,000.00 commencing November 1, 2005; and,

 

 

WHEREAS, a copy of the proposed Agreement is attached hereto and the term for this Agreement will begin upon November 1, 2005 and will continue through October 30, 2006 subject to the availability of funds in the 2006 budget; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the  County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute an Agreement with the Partnership for Children for the 2005-2006 Kauffman Teen Survey; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on this Agreement.

 

 

 

 

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
