Body

 WHEREAS, by Resolution 20816, dated November 16, 2021, the Legislature did authorize the execution of a five-year lease agreement with EL, LLC, of Blue Springs, MO, to lease office space for use by the Jackson County Drug Task Force; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Jackson County Drug Task Force has searched for a property with the same characteristics as the current site and has not found one that fulfills the necessary requirements for its use; and,

 

WHEREAS, because of the sensitive nature of narcotics and violent crime investigations, the Jackson County Drug Task Force requires a vendor that will keep strict confidentiality; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing had previously solicited proposals on RFP No. 60-21 for rental of the required office space and EL, LLC was the lowest and best proposal; and,

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1054.6 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends the renewal of the Lease Agreement with EL, LLC, of Blue Springs, Missouri, under the terms and conditions of RFP No. 60-21; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the award be made as recommended by the Interim Director Finance and Purchasing and that the Interim Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County the attached Lease Agreement and any other documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the lease, to the extent that sufficient appropriations are available in the then current Jackson County budget.

 

 

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
