Body
WHEREAS, Section 141.750.2, RSMo Supp. 2005, authorizes the Trustees of the Land Trust of Jackson County to convey title in fee simple, for consideration less than two-thirds of the appraised value of a property, only after the consent of at least two of the Trustees' appointing authorities; and,
WHEREAS, the Trustees have recommended that a property in the urban core be conveyed to the City of Kansas City, Missouri, for use in connection with the Irene H. Ruiz branch of the Kansas City Public Library; and,
WHEREAS, the County has undertaken and supports various projects to upgrade and improve the neighborhoods and commercial districts in the urban core, and the conveyance of this parcel of land is of value to Jackson County and the City of Kansas City in that the project is likely to combat the occurrence of blight in the urban core; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Land Trust Trustees be allowed to convey the property listed below, for an amount of less than two-thirds market value to the City of Kansas City, for the purpose shown;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Land Trust Trustees are hereby authorized to execute any and all necessary documents to convey the above-described property to the City of Kansas City, for a less than two-thirds market value.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
