Body
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 3455, dated December 15th, 2003, the Legislature did approve the Sheriff's Office Homeland Security Overtime Program Grant funded by the U.S. Department of Justice and provided all required local match funds by Ordinance 3588, dated December 6, 2004; and,
WHEREAS, the Sheriff's Department and the U.S. Department of Justice desire to extend the original ending date for the use of the grant funds to August 31, 2005, as stated in the letter attached hereto as Exhibit A, at no additional cost to the County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the extension to August 31, 2005, for the Homeland Security Overtime Program Grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Justice be approved and that the County Executive and the Sheriff be and hereby are authorized to execute any necessary documents to accomplish the extension of this grant in a form to be approved by the County Counselor.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
