IN THE COUNTY LEGISLATURE OF JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI
Title
A RESOLUTION awarding a contract on Electronic Solicitation No.BB200249 for the purchase of one (1) disc brush chipper for use by the Public Works Department to Vegetation Management Supply of Kansas City, KS, in an amount not to exceed $24,436.00, declaring certain existing county equipment as surplus personal property, and authorizing its disposal by way of trade-in.

Body
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director has solicited bids under Electronic Solicitation No.BB200249 for the purchase of one (1) disc brush chipper for use by the Public Works Department; and,
WHEREAS, he has received as the lowest two bids thereon, bids from the following:

Olathe, KS
and,
WHEREAS, following evaluation of the bids submitted, the Purchasing Director has recommended that award be made to Vegetation Management Supply of Kansas City, KS, for the reason that it has submitted the lowest and best bid; and,
WHEREAS, the acquisition of this equipment has rendered as excess to the County's needs, an existing 1999 Hurricane Mobark Model 2400 Chipper, serial number 3556; and,
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director has recommended that this equipment be declared surplus and he be authorized to dispose of it by way of trade-in; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Purchasing Director, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the above-described equipment be and hereby is declared surplus personal property and that the Purchasing Director be and hereby is authorized to dispose of it by way of trade-in.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
