Body
WHEREAS, the voters of Jackson County, Missouri, approved imposition of the sales tax for seven (7) years to provide funding for the fight against illegal drugs in our community; and,
WHEREAS, the Legislature through Ordinance 2373 authorized local matching funds to government and private grants; and,
WHEREAS, Grace United Church has received grants from the United Methodist Church, Heartland Presbytery Board of Village Presbyterian Church, United Methodist Foundation, the William T. Kemper Foundation, and the Hall Family Foundation, in the aggregate amount of $150,000, for Grace United Church's "Street Gang Ministry" and other programs; and,
WHEREAS, Grace United Church has requested matching funds in the amount of $12,000.00 to implement its program; and,
WHEREAS, this is the first year for this grant program; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this request and recommends funding in the amount of $12,000.00; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Prosecuting Attorney is hereby authorized to execute the attached agreement with Grace United Church; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Manager of the Division of Finance is hereby authorized to make all payments, including final payment on this Agreement.
Attorney Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
