WHEREAS, Lee's Summit North High School's 400-yard freestyle relay team won the Missouri State Swimming Championship; and,
WHEREAS, the relay team posted a winning time of 3:09.91 at the Missouri State Swimming and Diving Championships held November 15 - 16, 2013, in St. Peters, MO; and,
WHEREAS, team members are Michael Hynes, junior, Thomas Reilly, sophomore, James White, and Ethan Bresette, both seniors; and,
WHEREAS, Ethan, the son of Dennis and Melissa Bresette, says, "High school swimming is for building friendships with teammates and accomplishing the impossible;" and,
WHEREAS, James, the son of Keith and Joanna White, states, "Competing against the best athletes in the state is great, but actually winning the state championship is the best, as we have proven we are the best of the best;" and,
WHEREAS, Thomas, the son of Julie and Thomas Reilly, simply states, "Stay fire, hombre;" and,
WHEREAS, Michael, the son of Paul and Lisa Hynes, says, "Nothing is impossible-the word itself says I'm possible;" and,
WHEREAS, the parents, team members, and coaches of the Lee's Summit North High School swim team are justifiably proud of Michael, Thomas, James, and Ethan's accomplishments; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby congratulates Michael Hynes, Thomas Reilly, James White, and Ethan Bresette of Lee's Summit North High School on their outstanding performance at the Missouri State Swimming and Diving Championships and extends its best wishes for all of their future endeavors.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
