Body
WHEREAS, § 9058., Jackson County Code, 1984, now empowers the Housing Resources Commission to contract for the expenditure of County funds to provide services to homeless persons, without any sort of official oversight; and,
WHEREAS, it is appropriate that the Legislature provide such oversight, by way of the right of approval of the Commission's contract, to provide a check and balance to the powers of the Commission; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, as follows:
Section A. Enacting Clause. Sections 9058., Jackson County Code, 1984, is hereby repealed, and one new section enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as § 9058., to read as follows:
9058. Administration of Funds by Housing Resources Commission.
The Commission shall allocate and disburse the funds collected and appropriated pursuant to sections 9054.-9057. in the manner provided and set forth in sections [66.650] 67.1062 et seq., RSMo, as amended. Any contracts entered into under the authority of this section shall be subject to the approval of the County Legislature and executed on the County's behalf by the County Executive.

Effective Date: This Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its passage by the County Executive.
