WHEREAS, on April 17, 1996, representatives from all municipalities in Jackson County whose police departments sponsor Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) or similar anti-drug programs met with the staff of the Prosecuting Attorney's office for the purpose of making a recommendation to the COMBAT Commission and County Legislature, regarding Jackson County's funding of these programs for the 1995-1996 term; and,
WHEREAS, the consensus reached among the municipalities and staff at this meeting was that these programs be funded in the following amounts:

WHEREAS, these recommendations take into account federal grants received by the cities of Blue Springs and Grandview which those cities will also utilize for their DARE programs; and,
WHEREAS, at its meeting of April 26, 1996, the COMBAT Commission endorsed the recommendations of the Prosecuting Attorney's staff and municipalities and agencies involved; and,
WHEREAS, the attached form contract provides a suitable mechanism by which the requested funds can be transferred to the participating municipalities; and,
WHEREAS, a transfer within the 1996 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund is necessary to effect the recommendation with regard to the Jackson County Sheriff's Department; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends such transfer; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer be and hereby is made within the 1996 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contracts.
