RESOLUTION #13055, January 31, 2000

Body

WHEREAS, it was with great sorrow that family and friends learned of the death of Harvey J. "Bud" McDonald Jr.; and,

 

WHEREAS, Bud was born November 6, 1954, in Kansas City, Missouri, where he grew up in a family of six children and attended DeLaSalle and Southwest High Schools`; and,

 

WHEREAS, in later years, Bud committed himself to coaching for the Raytown Little League, positively influencing the lives of many young boys; and,

 

WHEREAS, Bud was a 20-year member of Electrician's Local Union #124,which he served proudly; and,

 

WHEREAS, his unselfish involvement and commitment to excellence in church choir was well known, providing many hours of inspiration and satisfaction to others; and,

 

WHEREAS, loyalty and integrity describe Bud's character and above all other things, Bud loved and was devoted to his family and friends; and,

 

WHEREAS, Bud met many difficult challenges in life head on, but no other challenge was greater than the task of holding on to the precious gift of life against all odds; and,

 

WHEREAS, he faced this challenge with great dignity, honor, and unwavering determination, with the same indomitable spirit he brought to other life challenges; and,

 

WHEREAS, Bud is survived by his wife, Esther, and son, Matthew; and,

 

WHEREAS, Bud will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him; therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature extends its deepest sympathy to family and friends of Harvey J. "Bud" McDonald Jr.

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
