A RESOLUTION authorizing the County Executive to execute an agreement with the    U. S. Department of Justice for the extension of the Local Law Enforcement Block Grant administered by the Sheriff's Department at no additional cost to the County.

Body

WHEREAS, the County did by Ordinance # 3456, dated December 8, 2003, accept a Local Law Enforcement Block Grant award from the U.S. Department of Justice, in the amount of $9,498.00, for the purchase of equipment; and,

                                          

WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Justice and the Sheriff's Department desire to extend the original ending date of June 30, 2004 for the use of the grant funds to June 29, 2006 as outlined in the Grant Adjustment Notice attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and the extension will be at no additional cost to the County; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED  by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the extension to June 29, 2006 for this Local Law Enforcement Block Grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Justice be approved and that the County Executive and the Sheriff be and hereby are authorized to execute any and all documents necessary to effect the extension in a form to be approved by the County Counselor.

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
