Body
WHEREAS, the County desires to authorize a contract to allow for the purchase of cellular telephones and service for use by essential personnel county-wide; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Purchasing, pursuant to Section 1040.4 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, recommends the award of cellular telephones and service for twelve (12) months to the following vendors under the specified existing government contracts as indicated:

and,
WHEREAS, this award is made on an as needed basis and does not obligate Jackson County to pay any amount. The availability of funds for specific purchases will be determined as each department places its order and is subject to annual appropriations; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 1064.00 "Purchases under other Government Contracts:, County Departments would like to utilize the State of New Mexico's Western States Contracting Alliance Contracts for Nextel and Sprint and the City of Kansas City, Missouri's contract for Cingular Wireless for Cellular Phones and Services. Attached are the pertinent pages of the above mentioned State of New Mexico and City of Kansas City, Missouri's Contracts; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri that the purchase under the existing government contracts be made as recommended by the Purchasing Director, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the purchase; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payments on each contract.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
