Body

 

WHEREAS, by Resolution 14800, dated November 23, 2003, the Legislature did award a contract on Bid No. PW 03-2003 to R. A Knapp Construction of Kansas City, KS, for the Noland Road Bridge over Little Blue River Project, No. 2390, at an actual cost to the County of $1,229,837.10; and,

                                                               

WHEREAS, by Resolution 14913, dated February 17, 2004, the Legislature did authorize  Change Order No. 1 to the aforesaid contract, at an increased cost to the County of $9,246.00; and,

 

WHEREAS, Change Order No. 2  to the aforesaid contract, a copy of which is attached hereto, is necessary to add a barrier curb to the bridge approach slabs, at an increased cost to the County of $960.00; and,

 

WHEREAS, after field inspection by the geotechnical engineer, Change Order No. 3 to the aforesaid contract, a copy of which is attached hereto, is necessary to lower the rock sockets in order that the piers bear on sound rock, at an increased cost to the County of $26,430.75; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that Change Order No. 2 and Change Order No. 3 to the aforesaid contract is hereby approved and the County Executive is authorized to execute the change orders on behalf of the county; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, except final payment on the contract.

 

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
