Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 16286, dated May 14, 2007, the County and City of Kansas City did enter into a Cooperative Agreement to provide for the expenditure of County bond funds on certain projects with in the City’s city limits, including the 135th Street Improvements Project, No. 3084; and,
WHEREAS, the bonds on these projects will be paid off out of proceeds of the City’s County Urban Road System Account; and,
WHEREAS, the County has a need for engineering services in connection with the 135th Street Project, and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works issued a Request for Proposals for these services on August 14, 2006; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works recommends the execution of an Engineering Design Services Agreement with TapanAm Associates, Inc., for design services on this project based on the quality of its proposal, its previous performance under Kansas City’s management, and its knowledge of the project details; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be, and hereby is, authorized to execute the attached Agreement with TapanAm Associates, Inc., for engineering design services, at a cost to the County not to exceed $389,174.20; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
