Body
WHEREAS, by order of the Circuit Court, special prosecutors are appointed to handle the prosecution of particular cases, most often when the Prosecuting Attorney's Office has a conflict of interest in the matter; and,
WHEREAS, special prosecutor Charles H. McKenzie has submitted an invoice in the amount of $52,000.00 for special prosecutor fees which have been found to be reasonable and necessary by order of the Circuit Court; and,
WHEREAS, the budget line item for Special Prosecution has a current balance of $18,282.00 and an appropriation is necessary to cover the costs in excess of that amount; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends said appropriation; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be and hereby is made:
