AN ORDINANCE appropriating $2,075.00 from the unappropriated surplus of the 1995 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund and authorizing the Jackson County Prosecuting Attorney to execute an Agreement with the City of Buckner, Missouri, relating to the County's providing the City's local match to a grant from the Missouri Department of Public Safety to fund the City's Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) program at a cost not to exceed $1,175.00, and to provide for supplemental costs for the 1995 DARE conference and DARE shirts, at a cost not to exceed $900.00, for a total cost not to exceed $2,075.00.

Body
WHEREAS, the City of Buckner, Missouri, has been advised that it has been awarded a Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) grant from the Missouri Department of Public Safety and has requested that the County now provide the local match in the amount of $1,175.00; and,
WHEREAS, the Legislature believes that it is appropriate to provide supplemental funds to cover expenses to the City of Buckner for the DARE conference and DARE shirts in an amount not to exceed $900.00; and,
WHEREAS, the attached Agreement provides a suitable mechanism by which funds for the grant match and these supplemental expenses can be turned over to the City of Buckner; therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be and hereby is made from the unappropriated surplus of the 1995 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund:

and,
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Prosecuting Attorney be and is hereby authorized to execute an Agreement in a form substantially similar to that attached, with the City of Buckner, Missouri; and,
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Manager of the Division of Finance be and is hereby authorized to make all payments including final payment of the Agreement.
Attorney Effective Date: This Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its passage by the County Executive.
