RESOLUTION  # 15110 , July 26, 2004

Body

WHEREAS, the members of the Legislature extend their deepest sympathy to the family, friends, patients and medical community upon the loss of Dr. Garth F. Harrison, who departed this life on Friday, July 16, 2004, when he was struck by a vehicle while trying to assist an accident victim; and,

 

WHEREAS, Dr. Harrison was born June 5, 1953, in Omaha, NE; and,

 

WHEREAS, Dr. Harrison was a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and University of Nebraska Medical School and completed his residency and fellowship at KU Medical Center; and,

 

WHEREAS, for more than 20 years Dr. Harrison practiced pulmonary medicine at Research Medical Center, where he dedicated his professional career to caring for people with serious illness and was well known and respected as a physician with extraordinary abilities and sincere compassion for his patients; and,

 

WHEREAS, Dr. Harrison is survived by his wife, Collette, daughter Lindsey, sons Spencer and Mitchell, father and stepmother Alfred and Gail Harrison of Omaha NE, sister Bronwyn Lewis of California, stepsisters Valerie Harrison of Omaha and Cheryl Nadler Voss and Jodi Nadler of Oregon, as well as a host of other relatives and friends that grieve the loss of his wisdom, humor, and love; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby extends its deepest sympathy to family, friends, patients and medical community upon the occasion of his tragic and untimely death of Dr. Garth F. Harrison.

 

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
