Distributors, Inc., of Pflugerville, TX under the terms and conditions of State of Missouri Contract No. CC250070 (007), an existing competitively bid government contract.

RESOLUTION NO. 22228, April 6, 2026

 

INTRODUCED BY Manuel Abarca IV, County Legislator

 

 

Body

 WHEREAS, the County has a need for law enforcement grade public safety gear for use by the Jackson County Drug Task Force, Parks + Rec Park Rangers, the Department of Corrections, and the Sheriff’s Office; and,

 

WHEREAS, the public safety equipment needed includes, but is not limited to, apparel and outerwear, duty gear, tools, first responder and emergency medical gear, rescue gear, restraint supplies, SWAT team gear, and police vehicle equipment and accessories; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Jackson County Drug Task Force, Parks + Rec Park Rangers, the Department of Corrections, and the Sheriff’s Office all recommend taking advantage of the Missouri state contract; and,

 

WHEREAS, purchase and availability of the public safety gear is necessary for continued safety operations of the using departments; and,

 

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1030.4 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends awarding a seven month term and supply contract, with two (2) twelve month options to extend, for the furnishing of law enforcement public safety gear for use by various County departments to G.T. Distributors, Inc., of Pflugerville, TX under the terms and conditions of State of Missouri Contract No. CC250070 (007), an existing competitively bid government contract; and,

 

WHEREAS, this award is made on an as needed basis and does not obligate Jackson County to pay any amount, with the availability of funds for specific purchases remaining subject to annual appropriation, with $215,000.00 of estimated annual spending; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing and that the Interim Director be and hereby is authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract, subject to the availability of funding in the current Jackson County budget.

 

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
