Body

 

WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney's Office has recommended an Intergovernmental  Cooperative Agreement ("Agreement") with the Blue Springs School District-Department of Public Safety ("District")  to coordinate, conduct, and schedule training sessions for youth and families in crisis drug abuse situations, at a cost to the County not to exceed $25,000.00; and,

 

WHEREAS, the District's proposal focuses on educating youth on the prevention of attitudes and behaviors that put them at risk for substance abuse; and,

 

WHEREAS, under the terms of the proposed Agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto,  the District will work collaboratively with the Blue Springs Police Department Youth Outreach Unit, the Jackson County Sheriff's Department, and the Jackson County Drug Task Force; and,

 

WHEREAS, the District has been providing similar services under an Agreement with the County authorized by Resolution 15321, dated December 6, 2004 for the term of November 1, 2004 to October 31, 2005; and,

 

WHEREAS, the term of the proposed Agreement is November 1, 2005 to October 31, 2006; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the  County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute an Agreement with the Blue Springs School District-Department of Public Safety; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on this Agreement.

 

 

 

 

 

Enacted and Approved

 

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
