Body
WHEREAS, the County Counselor has a need for outside counsel to provide specialized legal services for Jackson County to represent the Board of Equalization and the Merit Commission; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing issued the Request for Qualifications No. 24-060 seeking responses from qualified counsel and a total of two (2) responses were received and evaluated; and,
WHEREAS, the responses were evaluated based on relevant experience, availability, and cost; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1054.6 of the Jackson County Code, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends the award of an addendum to a Legal Services Agreement for the furnishing of specialized legal services for use by the County Counselor’s Office to Cheri Simpkins of Lee’s Summit, MO, as the best qualified response; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Counselor be and hereby is authorized to execute a twelve-month Legal Services Agreement with Cheri Simpkins of Lee’s Summit, MO, at a cost of $150.00 per hour or $600.00 per full day for a total cost to the County not to exceed $40,000.00; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement, to the extent that sufficient appropriations are contained in the then-current County budget.
