A RESOLUTION authorizing the County Executive to execute a Cooperative Agreement with DeLaSalle Education Center for its DeLaSalle Middle School Program at a cost to the County not to exceed $50,000.00, to provide a local match to a local grant.

Body

WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney has recommended the execution of a Cooperative Agreement with DeLaSalle Education Center to provide $50,000.00 for its DeLaSalle Middle School Program; and,

 

WHEREAS, this program provides a small group educational setting designed to meet the learning needs of at-risk students identified as having substance abuse problems or who live with substance abusers; and,

 

WHEREAS, the program is supported by a grant from the Kansas City, Missouri School District, in the amount of $204,984.00; and,

 

WHEREAS, DeLaSalle has requested Anti-Drug Sales Tax Funds in the amount of $50,000.00 to serve as a portion of a required local match to this grant, with the remainder to be provided by other agencies; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has recommended this expenditure; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the  County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute a Cooperative Agreement with DeLaSalle Education Center for its Middle School Program , in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments including final payment on the agreement.

 

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
