Body
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 4276, dated December 6, 2010, the Legislature did accept the Project Safe Neighborhoods grant awarded by the Kansas City Metropolitan Crime Commission in the amount of $39,229.00 for use by the Prosecuting Attorney's Office; and,
WHEREAS, the purpose of this grant is to partially fund the salary of one attorney assigned to prosecute firearms-related crimes in Jackson County; and,
WHEREAS Ordinance 4276 approved grant and matching funds through November 30, 2011, and the Kansas City Metropolitan Crime Commission has authorized an extension of the grant period to December 31, 2012, with additional grant funds in the amount of $43,073.52; and,
WHEREAS, in order to complete the project, the Prosecuting Attorney's Office requires an additional $22,771.85, to be sourced from its budget; and,
WHEREAS, a transfer and appropriation are necessary to place the matching and grant funds in the proper spending accounts; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends said transfer and appropriation; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfers and appropriation be and hereby are made:
