WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 14853, dated January 5, 2004, the Legislature did designate the improvement of Harry S. Truman Drive between 125th Street and Crystal Avenue as a County Urban Road System priority within the City of Grandview; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to a Cooperative Agreement between the County and the City of Grandview, MO, the Director of Public Works solicited formal written bids under Bid No. PW01-2005 for the Harry Truman Drive Extension Project, #2999; and,
WHEREAS, he has received as the three lowest bids, bids from the following:

J.M. Fahey Construction Co. $2,325,027.13
Grandview, MO
L.B. Enterprizes Inc. $2,380,000.00
Belton, MO
Leavenworth Excavating & Equip. Co., $2,703,857.05
Leavenworth, KS
and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works recommends that the contract award be made to J.M. Fahey Construction Co., of Grandview, MO, for the Harry Truman Drive Extension Project #2999 at a cost to the County not to exceed $2,325,027.13; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri that the award be made as recommended and that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute any and all documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, except final payment, on the contract; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Public Works be and hereby is authorized to approved adjustments in the contract line items, to the extent that no further obligation on the County is thereby created.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
