Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 17489, dated February 7, 2011, the Legislature did authorize an agreement with Lee's Summit Underwater Rescue and Recovery, for the furnishing of water rescue services within Jackson County for 2011, at a cost to the County not to exceed $10,670.00; and,
WHEREAS, due to a staff turnover within the agency, that agreement was never executed in 2011; and,
WHEREAS, by Resolution 17769, dated January 9, 2012, the Legislature did authorize a Cooperative Agreement with Lee's Summit Underwater for 2012, at a cost to the County not to exceed $12,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, that agreement was executed April 18, 2012, and it is now desired to execute an addendum to that agreement to allocate the unspent 2011 funds to be used by Lee's Summit Underwater Rescue and Recovery for water rescue services in Jackson County, at an additional cost to the County not to exceed $10,670.00; and,
WHEREAS, this program is in the best interests of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of Jackson County; and,
WHEREAS, a transfer is necessary to fund this program; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends said transfer; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer be made within the 2012 Park Fund:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute an Addendum to the Cooperative Agreement with Lee's Summit Underwater Rescue and Recovery, in the amount of $10,670.00, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the agreement and the addendum thereto.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
