IN THE COUNTY LEGISLATURE OF JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI Title A RESOLUTION authorizing the Chair of the Jackson County Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fiscal Commission to enter into a Grant Agreement with Children's Mercy Hospital for the continuation of the Teams for Infants Endangered by Substance Abuse (TIES) program, in the amount of $35,000.00, on the recommendation of the Jackson County Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fiscal Commission. Intro RESOLUTION #10809, May 1, 1995 INTRODUCED BY Lisa White Hardwick, County Legislator Body WHEREAS, the Jackson County Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fiscal Commission was empowered by Ordinances 1771, 1795 and 1941 to make recommendations to the Legislature for the expenditure of Anti-Drug Sales Tax Funds for the purposes of treatment and rehabilitation of drug offenders; and, WHEREAS, the County Legislature authorized grant match funds through Ordinance 2373; and, WHEREAS, the Fiscal Commission has reviewed a proposal from Children's Mercy Hospital for its Teams for Infants Endangered by Substance Abuse (TIES) program; and, WHEREAS, the TIES program is a multi-agency intensive, home-based intervention program designed for pregnant and parenting women and their families; and, WHEREAS, this program is a collaborative effort involving several community organizations; and, WHEREAS, TIES staff provide direct services in supportive counseling, parenting education, transportation, emergency assistance, and access to specialized pediatric medical developmental follow up; and, WHEREAS, the TIES program receives federal funding from the Department of Health and Human Services in the amount of $519,279; and, WHEREAS, the Fiscal Commission has carefully reviewed this 1995 proposal from Children's Mercy Hospital; and, WHEREAS, the Fiscal Commission has recommended funding in the amount of $35,000 from the Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund for the TIES proposal; therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Chair of the Fiscal Commission is hereby authorized to enter into the attached Agreement, a copy of which is incorporated herein by reference, with Children's Mercy Hospital; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Manager of the Division of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement. Attorney Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
