Body
WHEREAS, Fire Chief Mike Snider has been elected to the International Association of Fire Chiefs as Second Vice President; and,
WHEREAS, this prestigious leadership role reflects his dedication to the fire service and the respect he has earned from fire service leaders across the nation and around the
world; and,
WHEREAS, Chief Snider has more than 30 years of fire service experience and serves as Fire Chief for the City of Lee’s Summit; and,
WHEREAS, he leads a progressive, full-service department serving more than 115,000 residents; and,
WHEREAS, Chief Snider has built a strong record of leadership and service at the local, regional and national levels; and,
WHEREAS, he serves as President of the Missouri Association of Fire Chiefs and the Heart of America Metro Fire Chiefs Council, and as Chair of the Missouri Fire Service Alliance, the state’s legislative advocacy organization for the fire service; and,
WHEREAS, Chief Snider is an active member of the International Association of Fire Chiefs, where he previously served as President of the Missouri Valley Division and the IAFC Constitution and Bylaws Committee and Election Committee; and,
WHEREAS, his achievement highlights the importance of dedicated public service, professional excellence and strong leadership, bringing distinction to the City of Lee's Summit, Jackson County, and the State of Missouri; and,
BE IT RESOLVED that the Jackson County Legislature does hereby recognize and honor Fire Chief Snider on his election as the International Association of Fire Chiefs Second Vice President.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
