INTRODUCED BY Victor E. Callahan, County Legislator

Body

WHEREAS, Section 1040.1 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, eliminates the requirement for competitive bidding when items to be purchased can be obtained from only one source; and,

WHEREAS, Section 1063.00 of the Code requires notification of and approval by the Legislature on such sole source purchases exceeding $5,000.00; and,

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director further recommends that he not take competitive bids with regard to said contract for the reason that Roadbuilders Machinery of Kansas City, KS, is the only known supplier of Bomag, Galion, and International Hough recycling machine parts and service in the Kansas City metropolitan area; therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Purchasing Director be, and hereby is, authorized to execute for the County a contract with Roadbuilders Machinery of Kansas City, KS, and any and all documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
