Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 11244, dated April 1, 1996, the Legislature authorized the award of a three-year contract for the furnishing of inmate pay telephone service to AT&T, Inc. of Dallas, TX, at a guaranteed annual minimum commission to the County of $375,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, AT&T was unwilling to execute a contract which therefore required the County to rebid the contract; and,
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director has solicited formal written proposals on Request for Proposals No. 120-96 for the furnishing of inmate pay telephone system and services for use by the Corrections Department; and,
WHEREAS, he has received four proposals thereon as follows: Commission Guaranteed Annual

and,
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director recommends award of the contract be made to Sprint Communications Co. of Herndon, VA, for the reason that it has submitted the highest and best proposal; and,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Purchasing Director, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary for the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution 11244, dated April 1, 1996, be and hereby is rescinded.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
