Body
WHEREAS, George Medina, a dedicated member of the Waldo community, has been elected as the Honorary Mayor of Waldo for the year of 2023; and,
WHEREAS, George has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the growth and prosperity of the businesses and residents of Waldo, and has pledged to serve without any hidden agenda or personal gain; and,
WHEREAS, George’s infectious positivity, engaging personality, and genuine love for the community have endeared him to the people of Waldo, making him a true representative of their values; and,
WHEREAS, George has a deep personal connection to the community, moving to the neighborhood as a child in 1960, and attending St. Elizabeth’s Elementary School and Bishop Hogan High School; and,
WHEREAS, George decided to pursue a career in real estate, and over the years, his gift of gab, high ethical standards, and competitive nature helped him achieve the rank of the number one agent at Reece Nichols; and,
WHEREAS, George’s daughter, Eli, joined him in his real estate business in 2012, creating a successful dynamic duo in the Waldo and Brookside area real estate markets; and,
WHEREAS, George dedication to weightlifting and fitness serves as an inspiration to others, reflecting his determination and commitment to excellence; and,
WHEREAS, George's humility, approachability, and willingness to connect with strangers reflect his genuine desire to be a positive force in the lives of those around him; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri that the Legislature hereby recognizes and commends George Medina for his outstanding contributions to the Waldo community, and extends its gratitude for his selfless service as the Honorary Mayor of Waldo for the year 2023; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Legislature encourages all residents and businesses of Waldo to embrace this opportunity to work together with George Medina to continue the growth and prosperity of this beloved community.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
