IN THE COUNTY LEGISLATURE OF JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI Title A RESOLUTION awarding a contract on Bid No. PW-2345 (Bid Package No. 7A [rebid]) for the furnishing and installation of electrical and security systems for the expansion at the Jackson County Detention Center . Intro RESOLUTION 11691, April 8, 1997 INTRODUCED BY Dixie M. Flynn, County Legislator Body WHEREAS, in connection with the Jackson County Detention Center expansion, the Purchasing Director has solicited formal written bids on Bid No. PW-2345 (Bid Package No. 7A [rebid]) for the furnishing and installation of electrical and security systems for the expansion at the Jackson County Detention Center; and, WHEREAS, he has received as the lowest three bids thereon bids from the following: ALTERNATE BIDDER BASE BID No. 1 TOTAL BID Mark One Electric Co., Inc. $1,949,322 $10,000 $1,959,322 Kansas City (Jackson County), MO Capital Electric $2,024,495 $14,500 $2,038,995 Construction Co., Inc. Kansas City (Jackson County), MO R. F. Fisher Electric Co., $2,053,588 $4,499 $2,058,087 Inc. Kansas City, KS and, WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director has recommended that award be made to Mark One Electric Co., Inc., of Kansas City, Missouri, for the reason that it has submitted the lowest and best bid; and, WHEREAS, in the event that change orders to the contract become necessary, due to the time constraints involved in completion of this phase of work, it is appropriate that the County Executive be given authority to approve additional expenditures under this contract not to exceed 5% of the contract amount; therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that a contract on Bid No. PW-2345 (Bid Package No. 7A [rebid]) in the actual amount of $1,959,322.00, be awarded to Mark One Electric Co., Inc., of Kansas City, MO, as the lowest and best bidder; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Executive is authorized to approve additional expenditures which may become necessary under this contract in an amount not to exceed $97,966.00; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, except final payment on the contract. Attorney Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
