Body
WHEREAS, the County has determined that there is a need to address the ongoing problem of increased lethal violence in the community; and,
WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney has recommended a project which includes the production and airing of anti-violence public service announcements and distribution of related materials; and,
WHEREAS, there remains a nexus between the current violence problem and drug-related crimes which justifies the use of Anti Drug Sales Tax Fund monies for a portion of this project; and,
WHEREAS, O'Neill Communications has agreed to produce the anti-violence public service announcements and related materials for use by the County and the COMBAT program for this project at a cost to the County not to exceed $16,830.00; and,
WHEREAS, a transfer of $13,464.00 within the 2005 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund and $3,366.00 within the 2005 General Fund is required to place the monies in the proper spending accounts for use by the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney for this project; and,
WHEREAS, the Administration recommends these transfers; and,
WHEREAS, the term of the Agreement with O'Neill Communications will run from October 10, 2005 and continue through November 10, 2005; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfers be and hereby are made:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute an Agreement with O'Neill Communications, LLC for the production of anti-violence public service announcements and related materials at a cost to the County not to exceed $16,830.00 in a form to be approved by the County Counselor.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
