Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 11475, dated October 28, 1996, the County Executive was authorized to execute an Off-System Bridge Replacement and Rehabilitation Program Agreement with the Missouri Highway and Transportation Commission, for the construction of the Fields Road Bridge Replacement Project, No. 2314; and,
WHEREAS, funds for this project were made available through a grant from the United States Department of Transportation to be distributed through the Missouri Highway and Transportation Commission, at 100% of the cost; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has solicited formal written bids on Bid No. PW-02-96 for the Fields Road Bridge Replacement Project, No. 2314; and,
WHEREAS, he has received as the lowest three bids thereon bids from the following:

Pyramid Contractors $230,951.42
Olathe, KS
G. C. Construction Company $267,534.00
Blue Springs, MO
and,
WHEREAS, he has recommended that award be made to Embrey Excavating of Kingsville, MO, for the reason that it has submitted the lowest and best bid; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Director of Public Works, and that the County Executive be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
