Body
WHEREAS, Dr. Troy Nash, a distinguished Kansas City native, mentor, and co-founder of The Nash Group, has been appointed Director of the Lewis White Real Estate Center at the University of Missouri-Kansas City; and,
WHEREAS, this appointment is historic, as Dr. Nash becomes the first African American to hold this position since the Center’s founding, marking a milestone in the advancement of diversity and leadership within higher education and the real estate industry; and,
WHEREAS, Dr. Nash’s journey from public housing to a partner in one of Missouri’s top ten commercial real estate firms exemplifies perseverance, vision, and generational uplift, inspiring countless individuals across our community; and,
WHEREAS, his career spans more than two decades of service in real estate development, public-private partnerships, economic growth, and civic engagement, including his tenure as a Kansas City councilman and his service as a U.S. Air Force veteran; and,
WHEREAS, Dr. Nash’s new role at UMKC represents the convergence of his life’s work-real estate, education, and public service-and positions him to shape the next generation of leaders in Kansas City and beyond; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Jackson County Legislature hereby recognizes and commends Dr. Troy Nash for his historic appointment as Director of the Lewis White Real Estate Center, and celebrates his enduring contributions to our community, our region, and the field of real estate.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
